About the event
The kitchen is excited to introduce our summer program for Teens (ages 12+). The theme for this week "The art of Baking, sweet and savory." Teens will work independentaly and in teams. This program teaches culinary basics and provides lots of hands-on baking so your kids can develop the confidence they need to master skill sets in baking. Students will make a savory and a sweet found in different countries each day. An example menu for a day is French: Sweet and Savory Pate Choux (used to make Cheese Puffs and Cream Puffs); Kid-Made Pastry Cream to Fill Cream Puffs; Simple Sugary Palmier Cookies; Potato, Sausage, and Cheese Galette made with Kid-Made Pie Dough.
At the Kitchen we aim to use fresh in season ingredients and will tailor the menu to what's growing locally! This particular baking week is not suitable for students with gluten, egg, or dairy allergies. All the classes are taught by Chef Colby.
